Sebastian Stan was born on August 13, 1982, in Constanta, Romania. He moved with his mother to Vienna, Austria, when he was eight, and then to New York when he was twelve. Stan studied at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts and spent a year at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.

2. After seeing Sebastian’s work in a play, director Jonathan Demme gave him a part for the movie Rachel Getting Married. The role of Walter in the film was created specifically for Sebastian by Demme.

5. Sebastian claims that his most prized possession is a candle holder that belonged to James Dean. A producer he worked with gave Sebastian the item, because the young actor reminded him of the iconic James Dean.
